I had an amazing good time last night playing the two fifteen minute sets (one with Saint Anthony Falls and the other with Avenpitch)! It's been a little over four years since I played with Avenpitch but it seemed like just yesterday really once the old tunes started cranking. Plus it was made even better by being sober and having better body control due to yoga (I got into full splits at one point of the show - proudest stage antic of my life).
St. Anthony was great too, we had three songs and they went really well. We spruced "Coolio Julio" up with an extended Hey Jude style ending and "Goats Do Roam" finally got the live treatment. It was a lot of fun to really sing rather than shout or scream live, something I haven't done that much.
I hope once I move, I'll be able to do a show here and there when I come back to visit. It'd be great fun! If I get any photos from folks, I'll post them here.

St. Anthony Falls B Side
Got together with Todd and Chris tonight to work on the B-Side for the "Nihali" track we finished last month. I think it's coming together quite nicely - has a rather 80s feeling. Tentatively titled "Coolio Julio". I think we'll be releasing this stuff in May or June so I look forward to that point when all y'all can hear it and let me know what you think. It's just straight out poppy fun good times.

Life Updates from the Weekend of DND
Hi!
A few life updates from the weekend. Noel and I went to Joseph from Magus' birthday party last Friday and had an excellent time. I hadn't seen his and Mela's new place but it is fantastic! Lots of fun people to talk to and one of the first parties where I didn't miss drinking. Good times!
Not so good is that Noel's gone to Duluth to visit her parents and Grandma. We don't spend a lot of time away from each other and I definitely get a bit lonely and have a tough time getting to sleep when she's not around. I wish I could have gone along.
I hung out at Sawatdee (sp?) with Elizabeth to look over the photos from the photo session (was it just last week). I got a great shot of me in full lotus headstand and a really cool variation of the same shot where it looks like I'm doing it in the middle of either a psychedelic whirlwind or a snow cavern. I'll be scanning and posting these on Myspace soon.
Yesterday in yoga I think I pinched something in my neck as I had a terrible headache when I came home. I laid in the bathtub until I had to puke and then fell into a deep nap. Felt much better when I woke up but I always hate feeling poorly.
Nick and Cindy are in town house hunting (they're moving back from L.A. - hurray!) so when all hung out for hot chocolate at Common Roots (my new favorite coffee shop and they have great veggie food too). Had an excellent time talking various projects with Nick. He's been working on an amazing secret video project lately that I think is one of the best things he's done (and he's done some great stuff, witness the "Western Angels" video I posted a few days back).
Tonight I'm heading over to Todd's to listen over to what is probably the final mix of the first Saint Anthony Falls track "Nihali". I am really excited to hear it! We'll also be talking about stuff related to the project and the b-side track.

Aquarium Life
On living public:
Blogging is an interesting sensation. I've been going a bit deeper the past few days into some of my "weird" philosophies and theories and there's a moment where I think, "Hmm, do I want to put this out in a public place?". After all, anyone can read this. But on reflection I suspect most people have a good portion of odd theories floating around in their heads so I'd rather get mine out so you know who you're dealing with when you deal with me. I've never been a "cards too close to my chest" kind of guy, I guess. Privacy isn't that important to me. Space and time of my own is but people not knowing what I do in that space or time isn't. That's an important differentiation. Also, blogging about the weird shit is the most fun so why stop?
Blog organization:
I have decided that I'm going to start labeling my posts so that readers can more easily gain access to the areas that interest them. Please let me know what I can do to offer better usability.
Music updates:
I don't believe I've mentioned it here yet but I'm working on a new music recording project with Todd from Avenpitch (I used to play keyboards in AP a few years back). We're focusing on doing a few singles a year. I recorded most the vocals for our first cut last night and had a blast! I think they're some of the better vocals I've done and the song's a lot of fun. We'll do touch up vocals next Monday and then I'll take a month off recording to help out with the Nutrition Program at Corepower before we dive into track two. Definitely keep you posted.
That's all I've got.
